The Baptism of Children

I. BAPTISM IS A BELIEVER’S ORDINANCE.


Baptism follows:


(a.) Possession of faith.

(b.) Practice of repentance.

(c.) Pledge of obedience.

(d.) Participation in the community of faith.


II. UNIQUE CONSIDERATIONS FOR CHILDREN AND BAPTISM.


Before a child is baptized,


(a.) There must be an understanding of the gospel.

(b.) There must be a sense of the gravity of sin.

(c.) There must be observable fruit.

(d.) There must be discernment by parents and pastors.
