The Agent and Instrument of Sanctification

I. The Agent of Sanctification Ephesians 5:25-27

  God is the Agent of Sanctification

  He does this by;

    -Giving us the Holy Spirit

   -The Spirit seals us for Redemption. Ephesians 1:11

   -The Spirit renews our Minds. Romans 12:2

   -The Spirit causes us to walk in holiness 1 Peter 1:14-16

   -The Spirit makes us Christ-llike 2 Corinthians 3:18

II. The Instrument of Sanctification Ephesians 5:26-27

   Scripture is the Instrument of Sanctification. Vs 26a

  God uses the word to sanctify us by;

    -cleansing us and washing us. Vs. 26b

    -removing our blemishes (spots and wrinkles) Vs27b

    -making us holy and blameless. Vs 27c

    -preparing us to be presented to Himself. Vs 27a
