Our Faithful Example for Unity

To maintain the unity of the Spirit:

I.              WE MUST ADOPT JESUS’ WAY OF THINKING. (Vv. 5-6)

(a.)       Jesus did not hold on to rightful prerogatives.

(b.)       Jesus did not hold on to rightful position.

(c.)        Jesus did not resist menial purpose.

To maintain the unity of the Spirit:

II.            WE MUST ADOPT JESUS’ VIEW OF SACRIFICE. (Vv. 7-8)

(a.)       Jesus traded a King’s crown for a slave’s robe.

(b.)       Jesus traded a King’s majesty for humble rags.

(c.)        Jesus traded a King’s security for a criminal’s death.
